Cylon's philosophy is to provide an open system which is compatible with BACnet, the international standard for building services integration. Cylon extends its BACnet solution with 2 new controllers which are certified by the BACnet Testing Laboratory as fully compliant with B-ASC requirements. The UCU10FC BACnet is a programmable unitary controller designed for use with fancoil and chilled ceiling applications. The UCU10VAV BACnet is a programmable unitary controller designed for use with single duct and fan assisted VAV applications. Cylon native BACnet controllers offer unparalleled flexibility and performance on an open platform. They can be engineered remotely over BACnet.
Cylon announces the launch of Active Energy services. Active Energy can reduce your energy bills by up to 25%. It remotely controls buildings energy consumption and works as a virtual building manager for all types of buildings. The service monitors buildings energy usage to eliminate unnecessary energy consumption. Active Energy remotely connects to your buildings and takes control of key performance criteria such as plant schedules, setpoints and fault alarms. Most energy management solutions will only tell you where you are using too much energy. The active energy service is different as it takes control of your buildings and pro-actively manages energy used. Cylon runs Active Energy from the Energy Operations Centre, at our headquarters in
Surveys in the UK estimate that 90% of all building control systems are inadequate, costing industry and commerce over £500 million a year in additional energy costs. Cylon recommends upgrading from the old Unitron to UnitronUC32 to ensure that the BEMS delivers on its potential. Upgrading to UnitronUC32 is a key enabler of energy management. This platform includes required datalogs support and is Active Energy ready. Other benefits include increased energy savings, better compliance with building regulations, top quality technical support and ease of integration. A recommended first step is to update software and the communication controllers. Plant and terminal unit controllers can be upgraded later as part of a longer term maintenance plan.
We have redesigned our website www.cylon.com to reflect an increased energy management focus and to improve its navigation. The new modern design includes an attractive and clear layout and a simplified navigation. The masthead has been slimmed down with an integrated search bar and clear links to multi-lingual versions. The Cylon latest news can be found on the right hand side of our homepage. We have created a download area on the right hand side of the About and Products pages to speed up the search for the most popular documents. Finally we have created a new training area on the public website where training course options can be reviewed without logging in.
