Cylon Wins Global Cleantech Cluster 2012 Award - Nov 30th

GCCA Award Dublin, November 13, 2012: Irish company Cylon - an international leader in the development of energy management systems and services has been awarded a 2012 Award for "Lighting/Energy Efficiency" by the Global Cleantech Cluster Association (GCCA) and is now part of the prestigious "Global Top 10". 10 Global Category Winners were announced in the United States last night at the Savannah International Clean Energy Conference and GCCA Awards Celebration and Dinner.
From an original pool of over 4000 global entrants, Cylon beat off stiff competition to reach the final stages and was the only Irish company selected in the Top 30. Judged by 28 Cleantech venture capitalists, investors and serial entrepreneurs, who have collectively invested over $3.5 billion in clean technology globe, the adjudication process was conducted over a three month period.
Commenting on the accolade, Sean Giblin, Managing Director Cylon said: "We are thrilled to receive such a prestigious award from a global network of industry leading Cleantech clusters. We were delighted to receive the nomination for the GCCA award from The Green Way and Cylon continues to work closely with a number of the Green Way partners, including DAA and DCU, to reduce their energy. This award win reinforces the fact that energy management is a rapidly growing sector and businesses are now prioritising energy efficiency due to growing regulatory requirements and increasing energy costs.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, Ben Taube, Chairman of the GCCA said, "Cleantech and sustainability are no longer a niche. These 2012 Top 10 winners are indicative of the growing strength of their sectors; they truly are the world's top-tier Cleantech companies and should be recognised on the global stage."
Cylon is currently one of the largest independent manufacturers of building control systems in Europe and through its recently launched energy management division, Cylon Active Energy the company now also provides clients with cloud based real time energy management services, which have been proven to significantly reduce clients' overall energy consumption and carbon footprint and reduce energy costs by up to 25%. Cylon is an Enterprise Ireland client company and Enterprise Ireland has part-financed a number of significant R&D programmes at Cylon to drive the growth and internationalisation of the company.
